Are all visas of EU nations schengen? and if not, which countries do not issue Schengen visas?

  1. No, EU does not automatically equal Schengen (zone) and vice versa

    - The UK & Ireland are part of the EU but not part of the Schengen zone

    - Romania & Bulgaria are EU, have signed up to Schengen but need to tighten border controls before it is implemented

    - Cyprus is also EU and opted for a delay in implementation

    - Iceland & Norway are non-EU but part of the Schengen zone

    - Liechtenstein & Switzerland have signed up and will become part of the Schengen zone end of this year

  2. The UK and Ireland are the two EU countries that do not issue Schengen visas.

    Note also that two non-EU countries do issue Schengen visas: Iceland and Norway.
