  1. Fans will naturally flock to athletes they can relate to.  I would expect many K. Busch fans to have K Busch side to them in some, even if its minor, way.  I have sort of a dry, non-confrontational, quiet kind of personality and I've always rooted for Kenseth.  I dont think you 'decide' who you pull for.  Its a matter of the heart.

  2. I'm a fan because I started watching him in the truck series back in the day with Roush. I didn't like Roush but I liked Kyle. Then he went to Hendrick and I was really happy for him and I liked him even more. I never noticed all the wrong things people said he did and cheered for him anyway.

Then...the biggest thing was last year on DIRT at Eldora for the prelude. I watched Kyle his first time EVER in a dirt late model, and seen him drive the wheels off that car like he does everything else, and come home 2nd. I was extremely impressed with his ability and passion to drive anything on any surface for the thrill of racing alone.

This year he went to Gibbs and I think Hendrick made a mistake by letting him go and it just makes me feel good every week that he proves that to be the truth. I'm behind him 110% forever, along with Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson even though their still at Hendrick. I don't pick drivers based on who has the most fans or drives a certain make of cars, so maybe you could say I'm a rebel in that sense, but the drivers I do like have the desire to win every race they go out and I know they will have long and successful careers in the sport, and I'll pull for them until the day they retire.

Personally Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Carl Edwards are the best pure drivers I've seen and I'm not even a fan of Edwards, or even Stewart that much, but you should look at their full resume outside of NASCAR to find out where true talent lies. When I see someone with talent and can be successful in the right situation, I'm with them the whole way because that's my mindset.

Some people like their driver because of their attitude off the track, but I cheer for mine for what their attitude is ON the track. And heck, I like his attitude off the track as well. I can relate to him. If I'm doing something competively I want to finish first, and I'm happy with nothing less. I'm not going to pick someone though just because everyone else does, especially if their not very good and don't have the desire that someone like Kyle does.

  3. some of them probably are.  heck, maybe most have at least a little of that in them. so what?  what skin is it off your nose?  as for me, i've been a busch brothers (yes both) fan for many years now, and have not dropped kurt just because he's not winning all the time or because he's no longer the one with the most "attitude."  and i chose them primarily because they were my hometown boys when i lived in vegas. whether that makes me a rebel wannabe or not, i'll let a true fan like yourself decide for me - we rowdy fans have such a hard time thinking for ourselves.  call me when you've decided my status. i'll be eagerly awaiting to find out.

  4. Oh yeah, I'm a rebel!!

I've always said rebellion brought me here, rebellion's kept me here! I've never denied it. But just so you know, I like his driving skills and yes, his personality.

And for the record, I wasn't Kurt's fan first, Kurt's grown on me over the last 3 years and I became a fan of his after the fact.

I was definately Kyle's fan first.

And thank you ever so much Mr. President, I've been called much worse things than "immature" and how mature is name calling, my friend?

  5. no they know real talent when they see it

  6. I've been a fan since day one.  I'm a fan because he's a talented, exciting driver who has the fire in his belly to win.  I can't speak for anyone else.

  7. I'm trying to like Kyle because of his old school driving style (like Cale Yarborough & Buddy Baker) & the way Rick Hendrick did him - dirty, dirty pool.

  8. You may have missed Daytona in February.  Kurt and Tony are quite calm only because they have no choice.

I don't see anything wrong with what you may implying though.  Didn't most Sr fans like him because he was not only agressive but somewhat of a blue collar guy?  Jeff Gordon because he wasn't from the south and sounded educated?  Junior Johnson because he broke laws?   And so on and so on,,,??

  9. Birds of a feather flock together.

OR in this case, immature driver = immature fans.  Just read this forum if you need evidence.
