Are american Tv shows popular is Asia?

I watch Tv shows online..... and they ALWAYS have chinese subtitles.... I'm just wondering how popular are american cultural imports in places like china?

I've always assumed that they were like a niche market there, just like asian dramas are here. But it seems as though EVERY show I watch has chinese subtitles.

yeah, I used to be interpretor of CSI~~~~when the BT seed came out, we had to rush translating the scripts in 24 hours otherwise the audience  would all over us...lol

Yes they do, many of my friends in China watches Jailbreak and they love the show. Some of my friends watch Boston Legal online as well. It is funny how they are so much into those shows.
