Are american electrical outlets the same as in mexico?

I'm traveling out of the country for the first time- and don't know if I can bring any plug ins...... such as a hair straightener or pluggable alarm clock....?

Older places often don't have the three prong plugs, but adapters are easy to find. Mexico uses AC current

Yes they are in Baja...and as i remember they were the same as far down as Puerta Vallarta... maybe in some places they are different, but so far so good..lol
