Its not always the schools fault. Many students don&#039;t care for their education or the education of students around them. Many just come to school to hang out with friends or are forced to go to school. Many kids plan ahead to quit school as soon as they are legal to do so. I pretty much know this because I&#039;m a High School junior.

YES, America may be the first world country, with least number of graduates, may be the hub of hi tech, but least number of literates to Know it, If simple questions like these asked why America attacked Vietnam,Korea, Iraq, Iran or Why  a small beautiful country Venezuela is a threat to America,Why Cuba got such harsh treatment or where on the globe which country is, why health care is so expensive in USA, why so many children don&#039;t get what they should, What happens to the soldiers &amp; their families who are fighting for the country? the answers would be mainly, don&#039;t know, can&#039;t say, where is Iran, not intersted, Oh! sorry, what r u talking ?

I saw this show...and some of this has to come from the parents getting into the faces of the school administrators too. oy...what a dilemma. In 50 years, the US will be a 3rd world country and it will be our own fault!

Support HR Bill 2905 and Senate Bill 1748..So far Free Speech is under attack in HR Bills 254, 984, 1592 and 2015.  Two Women are already in Jail in Pessnsylvania under similar State laws that are the same as those in the EC....They each face 47 year Imprisonment.

I wouldn&#039;t be surprised. Schools are becoming social events rather than institutions of learning for many kids. You have to instill in children the desire to want to excel academically. In some cases it might be the teachers fault and in others Parents should be more involved in their child&#039;s education. The desire to learn begins at home.

Look at the teachers that are hired in public schools.  Compare the two following resumes for a social studies teacher:

&gt;37 year old.  Navy veteran, currently in the Naval Reserve.  3.28 GPA in college, 3.83 in major (history). Minor in political science.  No college varsity sports, certified to coach junior high/ high school assistant.

&gt;24 year old.  2.80 GPA, 2.50 in major (history), no minor.  Varsity wrestling in college.  Certified head coaching in wrestling.

Which teacher do you think most schools will hire?
