  1. Some nutrients can  undergo absorption at the very beginning of the digestive tract - inside the mouth! We know that vitamins B6, B12, C, and folate can be absorbed in this way, and so can the mineral zinc.

  4. yes, some mineral, such as  Na, Ca, and K thru  osmosis , special in oral cavity. I think even some vitamins such as C  

  5. Nutrients are only absorbed in the small intestine. Some water is absorbed in the stomach, but other than that food has to be broken down in the mouth and stomach and enter the small intestine before the nutrients can be absorbed.

  6. No.. food starts breaking down but nutrients do not get absorbed  

  7. Yes.  Some can be absorbed sublingually (under the tongue).  You'll absorb glucose from honey that way.
