  1. Hi!

I read that some Koshier Marshmellows do not contain gelatin. However, seems like it's hard to find.

I did find some recipes for marshmellow.

  2. i'm with you.....i live it the usa, but i'm desperate for some rice krispie treats!!! i don't want to pay for the ultra expensive "sweet & sarah" ones though =(

i haven't see a vegetarian or vegan marshmallow recipe that has had good reviews, so i'm still waiting. i hope you have better luck than i do!!

  3. Sweet & Sara makes the best ones, and you can order them online from numerous places.  Also, some Whole Foods carry them.

Here is a Rice Krispie treat recipe that uses rice candies (found at Asian markets) instead of marshmallows:

  4. Probably not--you'll have to check the ingredients, though.  Most of the ones I've seen, even in Whole Foods, have gelatin.

I live in the U.S., so many vegan online retailers carry Sweet & Sara.  You might want to check their website and see if they sell it in Canada.  There's also Vegan Sweets, but they're only sold through vegan online retailers, primarily Pangea (www.veganstore.com).  There's also Suzanne's Ricemellow Fluff--Google that and see if it's sold anywhere near you.

I wish I could be of more help to you.  You might want to check out www.govegan.net, run by Sarah Kramer, a vegan cookbook author who lives in Canada.

  5. I doubt it.  I live in the states and I have never found any.

You could try making Rice Krispies treats with marshmallow fluff or marshmallow cream.  I've never tried but I bet it still would still be pretty yummy.
