  1. Yeah, I run cross country at my high school. Last year as a freshman I ran a 5k at 22:10, (not so good) But heres what I run for summer with my school. We have off season workouts everyday together. Except Sunday and Saturday

Monday- 15 min out_15 min back. About 4 miles for my pace

Tuesday- Intervals, 90 second Race pace_ 1 minute cool down/ Jog. Do 10 continuous sets

Wednesday- Recovery day 30 minute jog

    Thursday- Interval like on Tuesday

Friday- 15 min out_15 min back. Like on Monday

  2. I run between 40-60K/week, dragonboat, kayak, cycle, yoga and swim on the days I don't run.  Training for a 42.2K marathon.

  3. I'm 12 and I normally run about 2 miles, I have a schedule that goes through the summer since we normally train at school that starts out and 1 mile and works up to 3 1/2 by the end of the summer. Most of it is 2 miles though, since that is what we run competitavely.

  4. I run 2-3 miles everyday, with usually one day off/crosstraining day per week.

I just started, so I'm still gradually increasing my mileage per week. :)

  5. Unless you are training for something specific or on a training schedule, don't run for distance.

The most efficient bracket for cardiovascular workout is between 40-50 minutes.  Run that.  Over time, if you measure your distance through something like GMAP (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/) or something else, you will probably increase your speed.  At the start, you may do 5k in 40 minutes, but after some months, it may be 7k (or more or less) for example.

There's no point in running for distance.  If it's for a workout, time is the key.

As for runs/week.  Most marathon training guides have you running 5 days a week.  With one day of rest before and after one long run (two times your regular distance).

Four is perfect too to be honest.  If you are or aren't training for a marathon.  A days rest between runs is a great way to get a high amount of workouts and avoid injury.

I run 5 times a week for one hour, doing roughly 10km per run.  Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sunday for example, then next week I start on the Tuesday.

  6. Lots of  us are runners and we are everywhere, from the smallest towns to the biggest cities.  For me I run 5K every 3rd day and spend the in between days in the gym.  I was running everyday but injuries have sidelined me a bit for the longer distances that I enjoyed in the early spring.  Running my long run out to 20K was great, but for now I stick with about 5k 3 – 4 x per week and spend the rest of the week in the gym.

  7. Well I am a Triathlete so my training is a little different but I am doing a 50 mile ultramarathon in a few months so running is a larger part of my workouts than normal.  Right now I am running 4 days a week.  A 8 mile tempo run on wednes day and then a long run on saturday and sunday both between 18-25 miles.

  8. I'm a Cross Country Runner. I run 3.10 Miles per day, 7 days a week. Every third day I run 5 Miles (to build more endurance). So for Example, here would be my schedule:

    (in miles)

    Sunday- 3.1

    Monday-3.1

    Tuesday-5 Miles

    Wednesday-3.1

    Thursday-3.1

    Friday-5 Miles

    Saturday-3.1

    Sunday-3.1(sometimes I rest)

I'm a pretty buff guy too, so I keep up my strength/definition training every other day.
