1. Usually Chinese New Year is a very important holiday in Singapore. However, due to the change in times, most places are open already on the first day of Chinese New Year. But these are usually open for a short period of time only on the First day. If you are referring to the Chinese New Year next year (2009), then I would say that it is not sure whether some of these places would be open on the First day or not. But Long Bar at Raffles will be open. As for the rest, it would be safer to say that all will be open on the 2nd day.

  2. Tourist attractions such as Sentosa,Bird Park,Singapore Zoological Gardens,Singapore flyer etc... will be open as usual.Shopping malls will be close.Open on the fourth day of Chinese New Year.Only Mustafa Centre,Giants hyermarkets & Cold Storage supermarkets will be open.Clubs will be open in the evening.Hotel-restaurants will be open as usual.Fast food restaurants will be open.

  3. Rob and Jons wang emporium.

  4. Sentosa, Flyer and other tourists' spots will be open as there are also many people coming to singapore during the chinese new year for tourism etc.

Only shopping centres will be closed as people need to prepare for the new year. They would most probably reopen at either the 3rd or 4th day of the new year as they might worry about the business.
