My trainer told me that most of them jump UP and not over as well as other horses. I just really want an arab hunter pony!

  1. your trainer is right most Arabs are known for disliking jumping, probably because they weren't bred for it.

you should look for an Arab that has jumped before, and theirs no reason why an Arab should be a bad jumper if it was schooled over poles properly,

you could consider a part Arab, as these horses still have the dished face and Arab tail and temperament, just with more stamina over fences.

or an Anglo Arab, although they look more like a Thoroughbred.

  2. I think it will depend on the individual horse.  I've ridden some Arabs that were awful jumpers and others that were amazing.  It is all down to their temperament and how well they are trained.

  3. They are great jumpers... now they won't be like a thoroughbred or trekhaner or hanovarian type warm blood jumpers but they can get the job done well . You have to teach them to round over the jump.. good training and work .. they do well.

great choice.. I owned arabs for years.. love them !
