Are atheists and ex-Muslims going to jahanam?

Question

Some of them are nice, but they totally reject Islam.

I know only Allah knows whose going to Jannah or Jahanam.

But did Islam tell us if they will?

therefore they deserve the fire of h**l.

verse:

I think that if they lived a good life, filled with good deeds God will have mercy on them and probably just give them temporary h**l and then allow them to Heaven.

What kind of merciful God will condemn a good-hearted person to eternal h**l because he got unlucky and chose the wrong religion?

Aright I asked this to my Islamic Teacher a while back and he told when the Day of Judgment comes and non-muslims/atheists are standing before him (as long as they haven't commited any acts of shirk) he will ask will you accept  me as your lord and if they say yes they will be allowed in to the lowest level of heaven. BUt this can happen if they havn't seen the truth about Islam or havn't really learned about it since it is unfair to let someone go to h**l if they didn't know the real truth(I think thats the reason). What the Media protrays about Islam is not the real truth. Also if they knew about the Truth of Islam and backed away from it that is a big sin. But ultimatly Allah decides everyones fate.

For apostates (ex-Muslims, in this case):

004.137 Those who believe, then reject faith, then believe (again) and (again) reject faith, and go on increasing in unbelief,- Allah will not forgive them nor guide them nor guide them on the way.

As for those who reject the message of God:

003.010 Those who reject Faith,- neither their possessions nor their (numerous) progeny will avail them aught against Allah: They are themselves but fuel for the Fire.

I want to stress here again, we are not here to judge who is going were. It may be obvious from the verses and narrations we have, however; we should always try to call others to the path of God and stop judging people here on earth.

We, of course, should know:

099.007 Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it!

099.008 And anyone who has done an atom's weight of evil, shall see it.
