Please define "forever".  If you think of forever as being eternity then we can delve quite deeply into philosophy without coming up with any satisfying answer.  If, however, you define forever in human-understandable terms, you have several mutually agreeable answer.  For instance, the attachment formed on an atomic level by valence between atoms can be either very strong or very weak but only last as long as they are not pulled apart by oppositional forces.  Love-attachments are also governed by the above answer and are therefore certainly less than  "forever."
