I am writing an essay and came across having to have one person tell another their life story. I an unsure about whether "the person gives their autobiography to the other" or "the person gives an oral autobiography to the other"

  1. If you're asking which phrases sounds the best, I like the second.  Obviously someone could dictate their life's story.  Think about former slaves, etc. who could not read/write.  If you say they "give the autobiography..." it sounds like they are giving them a printed copy.  The inclusion of the word "oral" clears it up a little.  "Dictates" might be a good word to use.
