  1. this is so ignorant.

  2. lol.  They learn them...

  3. Children learn their accents from the people they hang out with. Try to speak as clearly as possible when handling them.

  4. are babies born knowing how to talk in the first place. no they learn how to talk and their accents from their parents.

  5. accents are a learned thing.

just like if you are from ohio anf you go to canda

you pick up on things very easily.

  6. they learn them

  7. They learn accents from their parents, and, in many cases, society around them.  I'm American and my brother is too and his wife is too. They live in Britain now and their daughters are all starting to talk with British accents, which was certainly not learned from their parents nor something they were born with.  And note all the transplanted Hispanics who live in the United States and speak English in the world but Spanish at home.  They don't have accents when they speak English, even though their parents do.  Not to mention, that when I was growing up in the South, I never picked up an accent because my parents wouldn't allow it--they viewed it as a lazy way of speaking.

  8. you have an accent from how you hear people talk

  9. you teach them....mom of 6

  10. They learn them. That's why kids adopted from other countries speak exactly like their parents.

  11. Learned.
