  1. Usually the state driver's handbook will tell you the correct way to back up your vehicle...And that is the way it MUST be done...The driver must make sure that there are no obstacles or hazards behind the vehicle while backing - even to the point of getting out and checking or having someone as a guide.

For the purpose of your test, look back over your shoulder and check all 3 mirrors...An audible sensor will tell you when you're close to a curb or bumper (I found them annoying); a visual display does not show enough to rely on it solely.

    Good luck.

  2. Well, If it's off, he/she won't care if your car has it, but if it has it and they dont care if you use it, it's great for you. But I don't think they would let you use it on a drivers test.

  3. can you turn them off? if they're off i doubt the instructor would even know you had them. mine have a button on the instrument panel.

anyway, just call your local DMV. you didn't say where you are, and i bet it's different for different states.

  4. Good question but I don't think that it will make a difference, that's what they are for, safety.
