This year i did my gcses and in my DT food exam some of the questions were about cross contamination for example i said on a barbecue high risk and low risk foods should be kept apart because the micro organisms could spread from one food to the other..i referred to micro organisms rather than bacteria in alot of my answers because i was un sure which one to use..do you think i would have still got marks for saying micro organisms can spread instead of bacteria?? are they the same thing?!?!

  1. I think they are the same thing yes.

  2. Bacteria are prokaryotic (anucleate single-celled) organisms.

Microorganisms refers to any organism that is too small to be seen with the naked eye. It includes single and multicelluar organisms. It includes all manner of plants, animals, fungi, and prokaryotes.

Bacteria are all microorganisms, but most microorganisms are not bacteria.

  3. micro organism refers to a broad range of things that can cause illness and bacteria is one of those things so its like micro orgamism = humans and bacteria = teenagers (not that teenagers are bacterial LOL) but you get it? so if your teacher is cool you'll probably get all your points

  4. They are also called microbes. Very tiny life forms such as bacteria, algae, diatoms, parasites, plankton, and fungi. Some can cause disease.

  5. bacteria is a microorganism for sure... by the way, microorganism mean micro (small) organism that cant be seen by our naked eyes usually. few more organism belongs to microorganism like     virus, protozoa and some species of fungus...

  6. Microorganisms are incredibly diverse and include bacteria, fungi, archaea, and protists, as well as some microscopic plants and animals such as plankton, and popularly-known animals such as the planarian and the amoeba. Many scientists would not include viruses and prions, which are often classified as non-living. Most microorganisms are single-celled, or unicellular, but some multicellular organisms are microscopic, while some unicellular protists, and bacteria called Thiomargarita namibiensis are visible to the naked eye.

  7. Bacteria are microorganisms, but not all microorganisms are bacteria.

  8. Bacteria are microorganisms. Prokaryotes to be more precise!

  9. Bacteria is only one type of micro organisms.  So all bacteria are micro organisms but not all micro organisms are bacteria.  So I think it depends on how specific the teacher would want you to be and if they're strict.

  10. I think bacteria are a form of micro organism, so I think you might have gotten that one wrong.  Never mind
