  1. If given a choice:

I'd like to know: when and how I was going to die, if I am going to lose my job, exactly how my pets feel (are they happy and comfortable).

I don't think I want to know exactly how people feel about me and each other. For example, I think if you could read minds, you might not like what you learn.

I'm not sure I want to know what goes into the all of the food I eat and how it is produced.

I think it's better not knowing all of the, perfectly safe, crawling micro bugs and viruses that we are exposed to constantly.

Show me a happy, long term relationship, and I will show you two people who have at least some minor better off not knowing info on each other.

  2. "Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise."

That just about sums it up.

  3. it's important to know so you can make peace with the truth. ignorance is bliss, but all good things come to an end. you're gonna learn someday, better sooner than later.

  4. Knowing is freedom because knowledge eliminates fear and prejudice. Encountering a loutish person is very unnerving but knowledge of their life's journey can instantly transform fear into compassion and translate their actions from aggression to a plea for help. On the surface most things appear frightful but knowledge puts us at ease and escalates confidence. I would rather walk a mile in my brothers shoe so I can better understand his actions and I would rather understand the workings of a chain saw for the safety of all.

  5. "We know what we know and we know sh*t all else". And I am just fine with that belief.

It's pretty much self explanatory. We know what we are ready to know. No more, no less.

No less, does not have to mean ignorant.

So we can be both ignorant and knowledgable.

  6. Knowledge is power.

  7. If I have a choice between "knowing" and not knowing, or ignorant, as you call it, I'll choose knowing every time.

I enjoy knowing the "why's, where's, and the what for's".  That what education is all about.

That saying "ignorance is bliss" has a lot of truth to it, but that's not the kind of bliss I seek.

As far as the word "ignorant" is concerned, I don't blame those who are not exposed to knowlege or those who are incapable of learning (mentally challenged).  Lack of knowlege is not their fault.

It is those who have the opportunity to learn, and don't and never challenge themselves to learn...They are the ignorant people.

Today, will you choose to watch a quality TV show or just stick to the cartoons?  No, I don't mean the adult cartoons like South Beach or Family Guy, etc.  They all contain a subtle and not so subtle message.

  8. Ignorance is bliss.

  9. It is better to be informed...it may not always be pleasant , but it is better.  You need the whole story though, getting one side only, or relying on rumors, and half truths, can lead to a situation where you rediscover that "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

  10. I think it is better knowing that I am ignorant. Too many people think they know it and yet are quite ignorant. I do not know and therefore I am ignorant of not knowing. So...to all those you think they know.....think again. I bet they don't know.

  11. Ignorant, You'll fit in better.

  12. NO, it is never better to be ignorant but you must first analize the word.  ignornant means to ignore  something you may have seen or heard, not dumb or stupid as some think.  yes, sometime it is easier to not know but worse to find out later and feel like a dummy when everyone else knows

  13. when your young, your ignorant. people always want to be young, so they think ignorant goes along with it.

no one wants to not know.

  14. I am too ignorant to know!
