That really depends. The older ones are not just for chicks.

The new ones are chick cars but there are exceptions. I think the only time it is okay for a guy to drive a new bug is if he 1) is a nerd 2) has no choice or 3) is g*y. It is not okay for him to have anything in the vase on the dash (unless he is g*y). As a general rule, I think all VWs are chick cars, but nothing is quite as a chick car as the Beetle, Jetta or Rabbit/Golf.

In the late 60's while based in Germany in the British Army, my Dad had a Volkswagon Beatle 1600, metalic blue. Four kids in the back and we used to travel miles and miles and miles in it. Oh the memories.....I even recall the number plate ~ BS643B....LOL!

It was a great car for a family, so no, not just for girls.

No, not at all.  Only the new ones in certain colors are for girls, for example green, yellow, purple. And new beetle convertibles are also girly and homosexual looking.

it depends on what color. the cabrio is definitely a girls car. but red, blue, and black beetles are for guys. my sisters ex-boyfriend had a beetle and totalled it. it was blue

No make or type of car is for boys, girls, men or women in particular. Women are just as capable of driving any vehicle as any man is. Having said that, I suppose certain cars are liked more by women than men, the Volvo C90 is a good example, you very seldom see one being driven by a man.

Bieng a female I myself prefer a 1958 beetle but the new ones arent bad for either male or female its entirely personal preference

Not at all!  Beetles, especially the old ones, are classed as classics and many more men own them, do them up to their former glory or soup them up with new paint jobs and engines!  I've been to a lot of VW meetings as my father in law has a split screen camper and most of the Bug owners are men!
