Are bendaroos non toxic and will the dye used in them leave a residue on whatever they are put on?

I order this product for my daughter on 6/1/08.  I just got them in the mail.  They say non toxic on them, so far there is no residue left by them.  I got them becasue next week were are taking a very long 16 hour car trip to visit my family and I wanted something to keep her busy.
