  1. yes betta are tropical fish. betta like betta pellets because it will fit in their mouths but you can still try the food you have now.

  2. yes bettas are tropical fish.  You can feed it any fish food that it will eat.  I assume you are talking about flake food, If he eates it its fine.  They prefer live, dryed, and frozen foods.  you can get dryed food at wal-mart.  Be sure to suck out any uneaten food and p**p with a turkey baister every day.  Bettas like clean water between 78 and 85 degrees.

  3. Bettas usually prefer betta pellets over flakes, but yes, they are tropical fish.

  4. nope! i have 5 betas (in different tanks of course) i'm pretty shure they're not tropical. but their favorite food is booldworms! you can find it at walmart i'm not shure u should feed them tropical food though maybe you can find it on a website or something

  5. tropical flake is for omnivores and bettas are carnivores so should have proper betta food

    yes bettas are tropical fish

  6. Bettas come from Southeast Asia so i wouldn't necessarily call them tropical...Try calling up a pet shop and asking them about the fish food...

  7. I'm guessing they are. I've always wondered about that too since they're from Siam. ( that's why their called Siamese Fighting Fish! )

But yeah, they usually prefer the Beta pellets or the flakes, but they're just higher in protein. But, overall you can feed them the tropical fish flakes. You can also give them Bloodworms as treats. ^.^

  8. Bettas are tropical fish. They originate from the rice paddies of Asia.

They like their water around 78F.

As for your fish food... the only thing I could get my betta to eat was brine shrimp and blood worms. He would take certain brands of pellets.. but never any flake food. Which is just as well, because flake food doesn't have the proper nutrition they need.

They are carnivores and I suggest frozen or freeze dried blood worms, brine shrimp and pellets.

  9. You can feed those to your betta, however, most flake foods do not contain enough protein for bettas as they are mostly veggie flakes.  Make sure you get some betta pellets, bloodworms, brine shrimp, or daphnia.  Anything your betta will take can be fed as long as it's high in enough protein, so insect diets are best.

  10. bettas are tropical fish but do not eat tropican fish food, they are carnivor and need betta pellets.

  11. They are tropical fish, but need food specialized for them.
