im 5'11. a couple weeks ago i was talking to this guy at the gym. hes 35 and he played in several pro leagues overseas (including austrailia). basically he told me to just work on my abs and my legs and not focus too much on getting bigger.

he then said, 'think of the best point guards in the nba'. chris paul, tony parker, steve nash, etc.

then he was like 'now think of the big guards. david wesley. derek fisher(LOL)' i see his point lol.

so i pretty much stopped doing work on my shoulders and back, i just focus on my legs and abs. i also do bench so i have enough strength in my triceps to shoot long range fadeaways.

so the only muscle left is biceps.. do they really do anything for a guard? im probably going to do it anyway just for the mirror but im still curious

  1. nah but there good for showin off to the ladies lol

  2. Biceps are one of the least useful muscles in Basketball and in sports in general.  That does not mean that being built and muscular is bad for a gaurd.  Athleticism and strength are both useful at any position in basketball.  Crucial strength areas for a basketball player are: Core muscles, Legs, Shoulders, Chest, Triceps and probably in that order.

  3. Biceps are about the least important muscle. Period!!!

  4. i think you should work everything out and just remember lakers all day

  5. Are you KIDDING ME? Of course its useful. You can drive in harder and its more intimidating to opposing guards.

Why did you mention David Weasley. btw? I'll show u the REAL TOP QUALITY PG'S that has muscles...

    PG's with muscles:

    Chauncey Billups

    Deron Williams

    Legendary Jason Kidd.

Why didnt those three come to your mind? Why did you have to name david weasley. LOL. Forgive me, but my guess is that you are thinking too one-sided to even  try to think out these 3 PGs.

You see those three have muscles and are posting up smaller guards all day.

So I recommend you start your bench presses exercises...

  6. no not really that guy is right but i figure you might as well work them a little bit sense your working everything else

  7. theres a reason d will owns chris paul one on one he is much stronger and can over power him.

  8. No specifically but it help add to your overall bulk which can be useful for a guard
