Are big waves easier to surf?

im use to surfing NJ which doesnt have that many big waves and i might go to like costa rica next year and i just wanted to know if bigger waves were like easier to catch and do turns on and all that stuff.

  1. you'll do fine in CR, especially if you've caught NJ good. you'll have tons of fun, i'm going over Christmas vacation.  


  2. well you have to tighten up the screws a little bit for the bigger waves because you can't get away with half *** bottom turns and late take offs or you'll get pounded.  anything bigger than single overhead is gonna be tough  for you to surf if your used to crumbling waist high sets.  

  3. Yes, if you are a confidant and good surfer they are better to surf. You can do airs and strong turns on bigger waves.

  4. of corse, i found that out, because if you want to catch a smaller wave it is mare likely to not give you the power and time you need to get up onto the deck of your board. dont worry i went through all this, then when i finally stood up (the wave was about 4 foot) i was stoked, but mate if you cant get out back you can just catch the smaller waves, they are still good but only if you can get up really quick and if you like bouncing.
