  1. If your bird was closely bonded with you and you played with him all day, then yes he might be a little depressed when he's taken away from you. If he was more just a pet that sat in the cage, you occasionally talked to him or gave him a new toy, then it won't be as big of a deal, he won't be used to the intense interaction anyway.

Either way, the bird will be unsure in his new environment, and will take time to adjust to his new family. As long as the new owners are kind and treat him well however, he won't have a problem adjusting and loving them as much as he did you. Birds end up getting re-homed very often, which is unfortunate, but most can adjust very well to a new home if given time and proper attention/care.

  2. :(

    im sorry

if they are giving him away to a good family he not gonna be that sad. he will need some time to adjust but he not gonna be sad. Dont worry.

do you know the people they are giving him to? if you know them u can always stop by and see him.

i really dont know how to help you. wish he didnt have to go.

    Im so sorry

  3. ...ur parentsr mean. an animal is part of ur family. u shouldnt just giv it away.. >=[

    im guessing itll be sad..

  4. i'm really sorry.  Yes birds will be sad if you send it away, especially when it has been with your for three years. Do you have any friends that are willing to keep your cockatiel? If your cockatiel has been with your friends and spent time with them, maybe your bird will easily adjust to your friend's house!!

Another good thing about giving it away to your friend is that if she/he lives near you, you can visit your bird regularly.

  5. Simply put, if your bird was attached to you, it would be sad to depart from your home. Same with any animal or person :(

  6. Yes, they can. They can adjust pretty fast to their new surroundings, though.
