Are black carpet beetles bad for your health?

They are little insects that come out of the edge of the carpet in rooms and they look like ladybugs but they are all black and have a hard shell

  1. They can be a problem, they feed on things like wool fiber, leather, and cereal (any type of grain for that matter). Make sure you vacuum at least once a week to help fight these little guys. Your going to need to use some pesticides targeted towards carpet beetles. If you don't want to use pesticides there are some "green" options too.

  3. I've always been used to them growing up and never had a problem.  In fact, I think they're kinda cute.  But they can cause damage to your home, so consider control options if you notice problems.

    Are you asking if people can be allergic, like they are to dust mites?  If so, you can probably be tested.  But no, they're not toxic or poisonous or anything like that.
