  1. Yes when the black man was giving his freedom,

he went west so he could make a new life.THE

Indians found them  no threat to them.they was

excepted in the tribe and married.that is why some Indians are dark or black. Now days they are called freemen, and have the same rights to vote

at council meetings.Recently the tribes tried to

Dennie them, legal rights to Indian money, but it

was  shot down by council Indian affairs are handled by INDIAN POLICE,JUDGES AND

AFFAIRS,AS THEY LIV E ON FEDERALLY LAND.

  2. I am in doubt as to what you mean.  What black Indians?  Native Americans (traditionally called Indians) range from white-skinned, bronze, red-skinned through black-skinned.  Is that what you mean?  Some were said to have blonde hair or were red-haired.  (History of Indians...)

Or, do you mean, did blacks (imported slaves) MIX with native Americans?  The answer to that is a very DEFINITE "YES!!!".  As did whites, Chinese, Koreans, Japanese...

If you read the book about the original Robinson Crusoe, written by a woman, she says that man will stick his thing into anything (referring to goats on his island).  This is why it is incorrect to speak of human races; they can interbreed at will (and DO!)

  3. No, Native Americans are sometimes called American Indians or 'Indians' because Cristopher Columbus didn't know where he was.  He thought he had discovered a new route to India.  He thus called the natives 'Indians' and it stuck.

Edit:  PC or not, I've heard a lot of people refer to Indians from India as 'black'.  I assume that's what you are referring to.

  4. do you mean black people from India? From what I know there is such a group called "Black Dutch" but I think they were biracial individuals trying to pass for caucasian/ native american. Not sure on that though.

  5. I personally know several people who identify themselves as African American who have some degree of Native American Blood. I have never heard the term Black Indians but that might be what you are referring to.

  6. Except for those who like to pretend as much as some whites...those that have it, yes they would be a mix. Though I personally dislike that "black Indian" without the "and" between...it makes them sounds like a wannabe group. No one is going around saying "I'm white Indian," imagine the looks they'd get.

  7. '''''''''''''''''''''''google " Seminole " and also "African-Mexicans" and "Buffalo Soldiers",  Some highly regarded Mexican Heroes were African-Mexicans.

  8. not sure what you are mean.  yes the slaves mixed with the indians, as did whites and mexicans.  but it depends on view points i quess.  on my mothers side i am half cherokee.  not sure about my fathers side, as older relatives say they have cherokee but if i asked my grandmother.  she would get upset and say she wasn't black.   in her lifetime indians were no better than blacks.  so she just denied it.
