  1. They are an antioxidant and blueberries have fibers, so yes, I would say that they are natural laxitives.

  2. Actually...I think I read something about blueberrys in a magazine. Im not sure if that was it though. I think it said they burn fat away or something. Im not sure though.

  3. I'm 48, and have found them to be all my life.  Besides, how do you think the old saying, "Does a bear **** in the woods" came about?  They are very fond of them, and blueberries grow wild in the wilderness close to where most exist.

  4. Olives and coconuts are.

I have never heard blueberries being used particularly for that but I they could be.

  5. i thought prunes were. . .

  6. I know that grapes are...

  7. Oranges and grapefruit eaten first thing in the morning work great as laxatives. It doesn't soften the stool but it gets your intestinal muscles moving.

As for blueberries, I eat them in copius amounts and they have never acted as a laxative for me.

  8. Blueberries are rich in vitamin C and vitamin C is a natural laxative so yes they aer a natural laxative.

Blueberries are also low in natural sugar so if you are prone to food allergies or intolerances as i am ......  ie ~ oranges, bananas, mangoes, all give me wicked tummy aches cos of the high sugar content ......... then you'll find that fruits like blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, watermelon and pears will all highly agree with you and are all rich in vitamin C .....  which is also a powerfull antioxidant ♥

  9. No, they aren't laxatives. But any fruit eaten first thing in the morning on its own can have a cleansing affect on the bowels, as it is in 'elimination' cycle between 4 am and midday.

  10. yes. Blueberries are exceptionally high in fiber and fiber makes you more regular! P.S.: bluberries are also an excellent antioxidant

  11. I am unaware of a fruit in quantity that is NOT laxative...maybe bananas.  Many people are helped to go by a spoonful or two of warmed barley malt.  You can get a jar in the healthfood store for around $5-$10.  It's what is given in many hospitals and nursing homes under the name Malt Soupex.  They charge a lot more for it, too, when it's given under that name (as if it were a drug), but all it is is a spoonful or two of warmed maltose (grain sugar syrup).  Works great!  Cheap fix, no side effects other than uh, "going".  Coffee and cigarettes (Breakfast of Champions...) also is famous for working in this regard, as well.  One or the other works, too, in case you don't smoke, like we all shouldn't.

  12. dont think so , fruit in general in larger quantaties can be though, prunes are good.
