Are blue side lights legal for the mot or will it fail?

  1. my hubby had them in his car and was pulled over by the police who told him they were illegal as they mimic the police, ambulance etc so i would swap them back to the originals rather than fail the mot over something so trivial


  2. Failure.  The reason is :-

    a. A front position lamp shows a light other than white to the front, (or yellow if incorporated in a yellow headlamp)

    b. A rear position lamp shows a light other than red to the rear.

  3. Sidelights are known in law as obligatory lights and must be white to front,red to rear.

  5. It will fail, blue side lights are illegal. To pass, your vehicle must not house any "neons" or flashy lights as they oppose the directions of the Highway Code.
