Are blue whales commonly found in or around the Gulf Stream?

  1. According to this Wikipedia article the Blue Whale is found in all oceans. Their primary range appears to be in either arctic or antarctic waters where they feed on rich plankton stocks in cold waters. The article does not mention the whales spending time in the Gulf Stream. However it does mention the whales entering warm tropical waters. They travel there every year to give birth. The North Pacific population travels to the coast of Costa Rica. The article does not mention where North Atlantic population gives birth.
