  1. All prices are negotiable. Work them down hard, with the economy in recession and gas prices sky high these guys are  desperate to sell luxury goods.

  2. they are very negotiable especially with the economy today all you have to do is research what your going to buy get a price that works for you and dont quit until you get the price that you want, if they dont give it to you then just walk out they will probably follow you out the door with a better deal

  3. yes of course you can dicker with them....try offering half of what they want and work up from there...make sure you get it surveyed if the deal looks like it is accepted

  4. Buying a boat is very negotiable.  Of course, the very best deals are at boat shows where dealers are more interested in moving "units".  Why?  Boat dealers sell up to 40% of their total annual quotas at these shows beginning in January through beginning of boating season.  You can often purchase at "invoice", negotiate trailers (sometimes free), negotiate warranties, negotiate free service, anything is negotiable at a large boat show.

"Mark up" at the dealer is approximately 30% (+/-).  Just as purchasing an automobile do not be "quick" to decide.  Establish financing elsewhere before but see what dealer can offer as well.  Boat financing will be difficulty, if necessary, with questionable credit.  DO NOT forget the trailer and depending on size of boat this can be a couple of thousand.

Most often when I sold the biggest problem was the buyer's transportation.  Brochures indicate boat weight with nothing, ONLY.  Items add weight, i.e., gas 7 # per gallon, gear up to 300 #, trailer 1,000 +.  Over 19" please have a V-8 with professionally installed "hitch" with proper category.

    Boating is great fun, enjoy.

  5. yes you can, however if your mom doesn't know that much about boats, which she doesn't by your question in here, then take someone else with you, you can save alot more off of a boat than a car (percentage wise), if you know what you are doing, however just as with a car you have save more when it is a few yrs old and when you buy new you can get some extra options and features. You you are not an experienced boater i would buy one not more than a few years old and probably better to buy from a dealers, you need something reliable and with customer service good luck

  6. Everything is negotiable, especially boat prices. Buying before and at the end of the season is usually the best time.

  7. Yes

however there are many things that can go wrong with a boat that wouldnt matter so much if it were a car

If you are considering going out onto the ocean you need to have reliability

I would suggest that if you are not buying new then buy from a reputable dealer

also have an independant marine mechanic check it out

    I love my boat
