Question:

Are bodybuilding supplements and vitamins legal for transport in Bahrain and/or Thailand?

I take an array of vitamins/supplements to aid my weight training program, and to promote vitality in various areas.

Examples include creatine, L-glutamine, whey protein, high-dose multi-vits (like Animal Pak), nitro-oxide supplements (Black Powder), Udo's for good omega fats as well as several herbs for sexual performance and mood boosting, like yohimbe, maca root, kava kava, 5-HTP.

I'm traveling to Thailand shortly with a short-stop flight via Bahrain. With the nonsense that is happening in places like Dubai (where people are being doled 4 year prison sentences for eating a sandwich containing poppy seeds), I'm wondering if there are any strict laws prohibiting the transport of vitamins that are legal in the UK.

Thanks for your time and help in advance!

  1. I've often taken in Thermogenic's, Vitamins, Minerals etc (but in tablet form). I've never brought in Whey, Creatine etc.

If you leave them in the original containers if possible (Some containers, whey especially can be too big though) its your safest bet.

I imagine that the most likely scenario is that you could be pulled and then held while the substances are tested. Still not an ideal situation.

Theres a lot of guys in the gym I use here that travel out of the country to compete in BB competitions, so they must take stuff with them in and out of the country with them to the competitions.

Best of luck with it either way man.
