Are book stores in Japan open on Sundays?

I'm in Japan, of course, and want to check out this manga I finally found the name to. But it's Sunday tomorrow here so are they open or closed? If open, will they close earlier on a sunday?

p.s. I live in Fujisawa but can easily make a trip to Tokyo.

  1. Yes, most of the book stores are open on Sunday, especially big ones such as Kinokuniya, Sanseido, Yurindo, etc...

    10:00 - 21:00

    Weekdays and Sundays 10:00 - 20:00

    Saturdays 10:00 - 20:30

    10:00 - 20:00   *Holiday: Aug. 17

    *Sanseido Jinbocho Main Store in Kanda (Ochanomizu)

    10:00 - 20:00
