Are both Emirates and Etihad Airlines national or private?

I think they're private but has government funding like Saudia Air.

Emirates Airways is part of larger holding company called Emirates Group and it is listed as public.  Etihad airline is harder to pin down. It seems to owned solely by  Sheikh Khalifa is the current president of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and ruler of Abu Dhabi.

Emirates is currently a private company but is considering a public offering. Etidad I'm not sure but would guess it is  a National owned company.
