Are both Sitges Mougin, near Nice, locatio worth considering as a good choice for purchasing a holiday home?

I have the enviable position of being enabled to purchase a holiday home. But also have a quandary as to where to choose to buy.

I have done some research and shall visit both Sitges near Barcelona and Mougain near Nice in France, this summer.

I own an adorable year old chocolate (un-pom-pommed) poodle who will always accompany me on my travels, therefore bearing that in mind, and the fact that the entire process of aeroplane travel has become more tiresome and prohibitve, neccessitates travel by either train, boat or road.

My prime conditions are for the property be either by or within a short distance and view of the sea..and sited within a charming, quaint, eclectic anf friendly community.

I would be most grateful if anyone has personal experience of travelling wih a dog to France and/orSpain, and can pass on any useful tips and specific methods of travel and details of tailored journeys to any sourced delightful locations.

Thank You So Much...Cognoscenti...Joy.

  1. Sitges is a great place.  On the other hand, the other place is in France.  You don't want to go to France for any reason other than to change planes.

  2. Well, I don't know about Frances, but Sitges is a great summer holiday destination. It's a big party city, and has become somewhat of a g*y mecca, so two things to bear in mind. It all depends on what kind of vacation home you are looking for. I believe the closest airport (major international) to Sitges is Barcelona, but there are other, smaller airports (i.e. Girona) where one can catch a flight. I know that several trains go to Sitges, and I'm pretty sure dogs are fine on those as long as they have a leash. If you want a fun party spot to have a vacation home, I think Sitges might be good, but if you want a calmer and more relaxing spot, then maybe elsewhere.
