Are boyscouts teased?

Question

i've been in the united states for 5 years so i have no idea how it goes in primary school or highschools.

i would like my son to be a boyscouts when he is older for so many reasons: to be social, active, do the right things etc.

but in movies i see that boyscouts are teased, and kids throw their popcorn and try to beat them, like in the movie: pacifier of Vin Diesel. is that just in movies?

at my school they would be teased if they were over the age of 11 and still a scout,

I wanted to put my child in boy scouts and my son said absolutely not.  He thinks there is too much of a risk for molestation.

My boys are not in the Boy Scouts, for no other reason then time (they both are involved in a lot of sports).  But their friends that are Boy Scouts are not teased at all.

At my school, (a private, religious school)

They are teased.

so im guessing that if a really well behaved school like mine they are teased at just a guess but a public school they are too;.

When boys are in elementary school, they're not teased if they're in Boyscouts.  They're envied.  Beyond that though, they're considered dweebish by some.  However, if your son WANTS to be in Scouts when he's older, there's certainly plenty of benefits to it.  As long as he's not forced to join it, he should be fine.

I have never heard of one being teased before.Boyscouts is a wonderful organization for young folks to be in.A few might try to poke a little fun but just tell him to for get them as he will learn alot from scouting.A couple of boy scouts in a terrible storm that took a part of my tree and shoved it against door came and removed the tree and checked to see if i was ok.Scouting is wonderful.They learn to help do things be kind and how to help folks.Put them in there im sure they will have a blast and you will be very happy you did.
