  3. Yes, i believe that they are. I was meant to get braces but i ended up getting an operation because i am too scared of braces.

  4. the teeth ones or the trouser ones

  5. The popularity of braces is increasing very quickly in the UK.

Orthodontics - the field of dentistry that focuses on teeth straightening - is a growing field, especially because now there are so may different braces available, giving people more choices.

The different types of braces are:

    - traditional metal train tracks

    - invisible braces, ie Invisalign

    - tooth coloured brackets and wires, ie Six Month Smiles

    - removable braces, ie Inman aligner

The UK tends to always lag a little bit behind the US market, but I definately think that braces are becoming more common and acceptable to wear, especially amongst adults

  6. They are very common in the UK now in some cases they seem to be a kind of fashion accessory

  7. about a third of kids have braces or retainers at some time or other. However, the health service has just made it much harder to get free orthodontic treatment, so the number will go down.
