Are brass & copper common materials in keys?

  1. Not so much.  For less money key makers can make harder keys than they can with brass or copper.  They use to be good key materials because they were easy to work with, brass at least.  Copper would twist too much unless the key was the size of your hand.


  2. Brass yes, Copper is too soft.

  3. Once upon a time - yes.  Not anymore.
