  1. Be it Bridgestone, Goodyear, Kuhmo, Pirelli, Toyo, Michelin... etc, pretty much any tire is "safe."  While there can be an occassional issue with either the design or manufacture of specifics tires, this would account for a such a small amount of safety issues as to be insignificant.  99.999% of problems will come down to problems of either using tires for inappropriate use (ie, expecting an off-road tire to be good for driving around town), or improper use (dangerously low inflation and/or not paying attention to the condition of the tires).

    I've used many Bridgestone products over the years and have always found their tires to have excellent construction and a good range of compounds for most all applications.  Though you will likely find similar situations from most other tire makers... as long as you pick something appropriate for your vehcile and intended use, and maintain the tires, they should be safe.


  2. I would put Goodyear and Michelin above Bridgestone/ Firestone.
