Are budgies ok in an apartment?

i want to know if they are noisy, and should i get one or two

budgies are fine, quiet, tame, cute. i love mine to bits. they should be ok there.

finches lol. read up about the bird u plan to get im sure 2 budgies would be fine. shouldnt really make that much noise.

I've had several budgies in my apartment and they were fine.

But ask your landlord, just to make sure.  But mostly, landlords

don't mind you having  pet birds.  If  it gets too loud, sometimes loosley cover the cage with a piece of cloth

or an old shirt and they will usually quiet down, but don't keep

them covered all the time!  I've had parakeets all my life

(and believe me that's been a looong time LOL!) and they

are so much fun and really can cheer you up when you're

feeling down, especially if you talk to them alot.

Budgies are fine for appartments... they are not noisy unless YOU give them a reason to be... start off with one... if your home alot then in a few months after its traind and everything... you might wanna get a second one, if your the type thats busy..

they can be noisy if they WANT. my budgies usually quiet but when i go out and he wants me to go buy treats for hi he'll swuak so loud that i can hear huim a block away( or maybe its just that i have really good hearing) hahah

I had 2 budgies in an apartment, one passed away so I now have 1.  He's actually much louder now than he was when he had a mate.  When he had a mate I only heard them a little in the morning and a few times a day for a few minutes.  Now he's non-stop with his squawking and it is pretty loud, but not so much that the neighbors have complained.  When he gets so loud I can no longer hear myself think I just wheel his cage to another room.  If the room he's in is quiet, he's quiet too.

Add:  Parrotlets are about the size of a budgie, can be tamed, have talking abilities and have a lower noise level than budgies.  They are incapable of screaming.  They're pretty cute too.  They look like a small lovebird.
