So ive been thinking about getting a budgie, I thought they would make a rather interesting pet. maybe fly on my shoulder or arm once tamed (if thats true), I do not plan to get one clipped I think its wrong. But would one be noisy? this is my first bird pet ive ever had and im 16, so was wondering if his noise would annoy the family or not. also some more facts are much appreciated

  1. We have 2 budgies, 1 boy 1 girl, they are really quite noisy - and contrary to what you read, the girl is the noisier one by far. They can be quiet for minutes at a time but anytime you talk, go on the phone or put on the TV/music - off they go, squawking with plenty of chirping and whittering mixed in. It's a flock thing, they're used to being in a tree full of budgies all chirping at the same time, seeing who can be loudest, they're lovely little things but don't expect quiet. One budgie by itself would probably be quieter.
