  1. There have already been flying cars; but they weren't good cars, and they weren't good planes!

  2. I really hope they are going to happen in our lifetime. But at the moment people are more focused on making today's cars energy efficient.

  3. Yes, we will never see cars that fly.  If you think you are paying a lot for gas now, you would be shocked to see how much fuel you would use trying to propel a car weighing up to 4000 pounds thru the air.  Many of your experimental aircraft weight around the 1800 to 2200 pound mark.  Other than the avionics, light aircraft are very simple in construction.  Most commonly made of aluminum.  While great for an aircraft, it would be deadly if used for car construction and said car was in a crash.  Also the lack of skill of drivers would mean no flying cars.  Drivers today are so low in driving and safety skills.  A friend of mine is a private pilot.  Also an exceptional driver.  Not a coincidence.  Sad we are a nation of unskilled drivers.

  4. Technologically feasible, put practically, impossible.

Can you just imagine the carnage that would occur in a 3- dimensional situation? It's already bad in 2!

    Then....

"Oh, heck, my dealer said he fixed the engine stalling problem. I'd better coast to that cloud and call him again".

    They will never happen.
