Are cars with Imobilizer systems safe from car thiefs?

Question

My car has the transponder key with an immobilizer system that will not turn the engine unless i have the key with the transponder chip. Is this safe for my car, or can car thiefs still easily break in and take the car?

Yes it is safe but remember that if a thief whats something they will take it but it is alot safer than cars of yesterday.......

If they want your car bad enough, they will get it, don't care what you have.

exactly what the last guy said. My motto about theives too. And the people who nick these cars, have either had some kinda training from the dealership or trade itself. Or enthusiasts.
