  1. Depends on what you mean by love. Cats can grow fond of you and become affectionate.

  2. Surprisingly (well, not so much of a surprise to anyone who's ever experienced this from a cat), cats ARE capable of love.  I just read this in a magazine.  A study was done and it was found out that cats' brains produce the same chemicals as human brains when they see the object of their affection -- so what we experience when we feel love for someone is the same thing that cats experience when they're with somebody they love.  I think any cat owner who's ever experienced the affections of their cat already knew this and didn't need a scientific study to prove it!

  3. yes they can, my cat was completely nourished and provided by his mammy cat but came to me for comfort and reasuarance. He would never lie contented beside her after a feed but cried and when i picked him up and put him on my red jumper next to my heartbeat he purrrrrrreddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and went to sleep, i know my cat loved me as i loved him, he is gone now and it breaks my heart talking about him. cats are very lovable animals but its the way you treat them from day one that makes or breaks them, my cat was the runt and i let the others feed and when finished i put my kitty (same litter) down and he got the best as i said he was the runt but due to my perserverence he came out the best!!!!!!!!!xxxx

  4. Yes, they just think they run the house!!

  5. they most certainly are capable of love. i went on a week long trip, the hubby stayed behind with our pets, when i got home the cats came running to me. theres no doubt

  6. They are capable of love, but not romantic love, just secure love.  Oh yes, they do love you.

read on if you want a funny cat joke:

    dog sees owner and thinks:

He feeds me, he waters me, he cares for my every need.  He must be god.

    cat sees owner and thinks:

He feeds me, he waters me, he cares for my every need.  I must be god.

But a grateful god, most of the time.

  7. My cat Douglas just passed away.  He loved me!  He looked for me when I was gone and he greeted me at the door when I came home.  He slept with me and greeted me each morning with his paw on my face.

  8. I think they love us, for sure! How would you explain them wanting to be near us, giving us kisses, sleeping with us & crying when they see us getting ready to go to work without them?

  9. Ha ha Tell that to Pearl.. she comes when I call, follows me everywhere. Paws me, climbs in my lap, caresses my face with her paws and trusts me completely. My cat Topaz loves when I sing, she greets every visitor, and she also follows me everywhere.. My cat Crickett slept with me every night, she used to l**k my eyelids, gaze into my eyes and climb under the blankets with me. Pearl loves anything you put on her, she notices when I wear a new necklace and inspects it right away.. she wants to wear any kind of string, beads, headbands and she will literally come running if she hears the sound of any collar, leash, beads, necklace etc. She doesn't play with them she just wants to wear them... and purrr... Not only do cats love, they have personality, individuality, eccentricities, like, dislikes, habits, favorite things/people/ places. To say a cat can't love you is like saying the sun doesn't shine!

I've had friend and lovers, family and none I know can love so deeply as a cat.. When a cat chooses you, you'll know what I mean.. All my cats chose me in one way or another..

  10. Yes they can, but in their own way. Some show affection more than others of course, and it's often based on your being the source of their food.

If you are ever lucky enough to own (be owned by!) a pure-bred Siamese cat (especially if there are just the two of you living together) you will know what real love can be like between human and animal.

  11. You bet!!

They can be your best friend and confidant.

Thru the good times and the bad.

  12. I dont think so...maybe rubbing their head on you makes them feel good, but i seriously dont think that they love humans. They do love food though>lol
