  1. no i saw on the rachel ray show

  2. Cats do see in colour, but not the same way we experience colour.

Cats respond strongly to purple, blue, green and yellow ranges of colour.

It seems that they can NOT see reds, oranges and browns because they fall out of their colour range, and are seen as shades of gray.

A picture explains it far better - check this out -this shows how cats see colour, as compared to humans & compared to total black and white : http://kittyshow.com/x_cat_vision_color....

    Hope that helps.

  3. Cats have what is called red-green colorblindness (deuteranopia) in humans. They have trouble distinguishing colors like red, green, and brown but can see the difference between those and other colors.

Dogs don't seem to be completely colorblind either.  They have some cones, which are the receptors responsible for color vision and visual acuity, but not nearly as many as people.

So yes, I guess cats are basically colorblind like dogs since neither species is completely colorblind but both see fewer colors as clearly as humans do.

  4. Cats aren't fully colourblind, as they can see colours like green, blue, etc.

The rest of the colours show up gray.

    Hope this helps!

  5. Cats responded to the colors purple, blue, green and yellow range. Red, orange and brown colors appear to fall outside cats color range and are most likely seen as dark to mid shades of gray.

Cats appear to see less saturation in colors than do humans, meaning cats do not see colors as intensely or vibrantly. Purple, blue & green appear to be the strongest colors perceived by cats.

  6. yea they are i've read it before i've saw movies about it and a lot of stuff like that and they are color blind

  7. It is thought that cats can see limited colors--like we do at dusk right before it gets too dark to see any colors, most colors are a shade of grey but reds and some other colors do hae that slight tint of their color.  However, I have a cat who inevitably picks pink things--hair scrunchies, blankets, toys, whatever.  She's very attracted to pink.  But maybe cats can see "colors" in heat or by some other means (sort of like Jordi's visor in Star Trek Next Gen).

  8. no they arent haha

  9. cats aren't fully blind they can tell the difference know between blue and greens but they cant pick out shades of red

  10. Yes my friend is a vet and I asked her once. But they can see in the dark!
