Are cell phones working in Mexico right now??

We've been using the Mexitel cell phones we rented before we came down here and they have worked flawlessly. (And the price for calling is exactly what they said it would be - $1 per call to the US and 50 cents per call to other cell phones.) Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended.

Funny you asked that...my boyfriend called me on Monday morning from San Luis Potosi with no problems, but today he has tried to call several times from Sonora, and when I pick up there is nothing.  When I call him, it rings and goes to voicemail.  Then he calls back and I hear nothing.  He has called from both his Telcel phone and his Movistar phone and also from a calling card, but we can't make a connection.  It's frustrating!

Update:  It finally worked after 45 minutes of his trying to call!
