I am interested in knowing if there are certain models of trucks that are better for conversion to run on grease, electricity, or solar than others. Thank you.

  1. say what?

of course, my whole life is dedicated to answering these odd questions from random people I meet online.

after 10 minutes of research, I found this great source: www.google.com

  2. Diesel is I think what you use for biodiesel, grease, oil, etc.

If you want electric or solar-backed electric, get the smallest engine possible since you're tearing it out.

Get a manual transmisison for electric conversion since automatics are inefficient and electric almost never shifts anyway.

And make sure you don't need your air conditioning / heating too much since electric conversions are notoriously weak on climate control.

  3. It rather depends to which of the less efficient modes you wish to convert.  Well, except for solar which is just silly, unless you live in a place with continuous sunshine and have a truck that is the size of a semi to hold all the solar cells and in which you won't carry any load.

Oh, and by the way, solar power is just a method to power electric motors, so it is inherently electric also.
