  1. I attend a Charter School. It all depends on the Charter School itself, so I recommend researching and asking questions, talking with students and teachers, and taking tours. They should be more than willing to do that for you.

  2. yes!

I am a student who attends a high school that is a charter school and I would recommend to the parents to enroll their child.I have noticed great attention from my teachers and a lot of motivation. When i used to attend a public school I felt I did not have attention for my worries and for help.

  3. this is a difficult question to answer acurately because there are too many variables in individual schools. charter schools tend to have smaller class sizes which allow more teacher/student interaction. I would suggest to check the performance standards of the students at what ever school you are interested in is a good indicator.

  4. Charter schools can be fantastic.  However, do look into who oversees or audits the books, etc.  Many have little oversight and limited funds can be spent poorly.  That can happen in regular school, too!

  5. they are both the same but it depends on the charter school

  6. Well they are considered good schools, their special education system is lacking and in most cases has none at all.

I have ADD, SPD, and SID and when I was little my parents were going to put me in the new Charter school when it opened but because I had a learning disability they did not have any Special Ed services, and this was back in 94 when I was just finishing up 6th grade.  A lot has changed now but I am not sure if they have Special Ed.

I stayed in Public School which was the best thing for me.

  7. I think there are some good charter schools, and some good public schools, and there are bad ones, so 'it depends'.  Be sure to review their test performance- we had one in our state where only 3% of third graders were proficient readers!  None of the public schools in that area were that poor.  The state closed them after 4 years of academic failure- I personally they'll reopen under a different name- there's nothing to prevent that.  As someone else mentioned, the finances also have to be watched.  I've seen schools close with very little notice to staff and families.  Do a google search on their parent company to see what's going on.  Schools in one area may be newer and seem to be fine, but more established schools may be floundering (this is also true of public schools).
