  1. Well if theres two of you, then thats ok, it will be thoughtful, just ask/tell your dad(s) first. Im 13 and go on the underground the whole time, saying that, it IS the stockholm underground.

  2. I don't think you can get the £1 fare without an adult. Can you get an adult family member to go with you and help you keep it secret? Good luck

  3. The main point is,would your mother's let you on there on your own? I wouldnt let mine.

  4. *Yes of course you can! Its a public service open to the public of ALL ages! Its really up to your parents if they allow you to go by yourself or not! All you need is a valid Oyster card and money and you're good to go!

*I've travelled on the underground by myself since I was 12 years old!

    =)

  5. Well, i'm from Sydney and I am allowed at 12 and my mum lets me, so its proberbly not that different in the uk.

  6. Yes you can travel on the underground at that age without parental supervision.

I'd like to clarify the fare situation.

If you live in the London zonal area, you can by a cheap day return on the train, for one pound.

If you want to buy a one-day travelcard, off-peak, this will cost you £2.00 for any travelcard (you might as well get a 1-6)

It is only when travelling with an adult that the £1.00 travelcard is available.  This is known as the Accompanied Child Discount.

  7. Kids get the tube to school on their own so it is allowed but please do not travel alone if you are not used to travelling on the underground.  It's nice that you want to buy your mothers something nice but could you ask another family member or a family friend to go with you?

  8. I am not sure about a £1 fare. but I have seen plenty of people your age traveling on the underground.

I hope that my answer helps. Joolz

  9. Yes very much so, keep out of the peak time, dont forget to ask for child fare tickets and ask staff for assistance in directions.

As always dont split up, be aware of what is going on around you and be careful.

But enjoy yourselves and have a great time.

  10. Of course you can, if you can afford the fare! I remember going on the |Underground alone at age 11 - altho' that was long, long ago!!!

  11. The money would be better spent an a dictionary.

  12. you can,but stay together, dont talk to strangers, and dont mess about on the trains  or stations, people put their selves at risk all the time, just fooling about.

  13. Yes ..unaccompanied children can travel on the underground...

    BUT..

check that the £1 fare doesn't require you to travel with an adult..

    AND,,

Don't go sneaking off without telling your parents!
