Children are little people. They are very important but maybe don't feel that important as couples put their own interests before their kids. Today's society is more about getting ahead than spending quality time together. I understand that it takes two incomes these days just to afford gas and housing- but the kids are suffering. Who is there for them? I remembered that my mom was a single parent and I was raised by babysitters. They just care mostly about their check - and making sure we didn't burn the house down or kill each other.  Yes. Children are most vulnerable and teachable before the second grade. It is fun to teach little people. They are hungry to listen and please the teacher.

I absolutely adore this question, as it reveals how fundamentally objectionable our attitudes towards children and young people are.  In the UK, we have been whipping up fear, mistrust, and demonising children and young people now for a generation.  We have hoodies, and ASBO's and knife crime, and yob culture, but we never hear of the vast majority of good 'smaller' 'younger' goddam PEOPLE!

Children are people; if you mean are they more important than adults well, no, everyone is of equal importance.  Only thing is children do not have the capicity to stand up for themselves so they need to be looked after but this does not mean they are more important.  They just need help before they spread their wings and fly.
