  1. I think that due to male and female genes, boys end up looking more like dad, and girls look more like mum. Look at Madonna's kids for example :)

About the baby's s*x, there are equal chances of it being a girl or a boy. However, it times of war when most of male population fought and died, mothers gave birth to more girls than boys. Perhaps it's nature's way to regulate itself.

  2. its completely random.  Every parent has two traits called alelles. and each parent will pass one of their alelles to a child so the child will also have two alelles.  The dominent trait is what the child will have and they will have another trait that they can pass off to their children.

a woman has an xx chromosome and a male has an xy chromosome.  the male is what decides what the child will be.  the woman and man can only pass one chromosome.  the woman will always pass an x chromosome and the male will pass either an x or y.  if the male passes an x then the baby is female if the male passes a y then it will be male.

  3. my sons and granchildren (boys and girld look like my sons and me

  4. they inherit both 50/50 on everything they'll like the male and female at the same time

  5. Children typically look more like the father.  This is a reproductive advantage.  There's never any question about the mother's identity, but a child that resembles the father is more likely to receive care from that father.

The odds of having a girl are higher than having a boy.  If there is a defective gene on the X chromosome, a girl has a spare, and so is not affected.  A boy has no spare, and may self abort in the first trimester as a result.  Few people know that most pregnancies self-abort in the first couple of weeks after fertilization, for one reason or another.  Mother often never knows she was pregnant - just thinks she had her period a little late and it was a little heavier.

  6. No its 50/50 for both -----> you get half genes from male and half from female, how they assemble is random. I'm female and have more of my dads features whereas my sis looks like my mum.

Again, all females eggs are female or xx and male sperm are xx and xy so xx+xy= male as y is dominant, xx+xx= female. So 50/50 chance although there is some evidence that female sperm live longer but male are stronger sprinters so time of intercourse may play some part in deciding.

    Hope this helps!

  7. Random unless it is a s*x linked condition like colour blindness.

105 boys are born to every 100 girls but males die off more so there are more old ladies than old men
