  1. It's not a breed I would choose with children, as they are known as being unpredictable.

We had one when we were growing up, as kids, and he took a chunk out of all 5 of us over the years, and with very little provocation.

A neighbour of mine also has one, and she has to lock him in the bedroom when her grand-children come to visit. I personally wouldn't have one, as I have 8 grandchildren, and they are very young. I would be afraid to let either the dog, or children out of my sight, as I remember being bitten by our pet chow, and still have the scar to prove it.

  2. Eh?

  3. Yes, but they are very very protective of the people whom they're used to, so if say a friend of your child comes over and the 2 kids are rough housing, the dog may attack the friend because he thinks your kid is in danger.

  4. what the heck is a chow!????!

  5. Yes, but they can't eat a whole one.

  6. im 14 too, and i have a chow.  i got him when i was like 11 and my youngest sister was 5. he was about 3 months old. he was fine, no problems. my baby cousins come [one of which is 3.] and he plays with them.

but i really think it depends on the dog, and how it's raised. if you get a puppy you'll probably be fine, but i'd choose older dogs carefully. (:

  7. I got attacked by a chow when I was 11. The dog later attacked a 7 year old boy and was put to sleep. I also had a friend growing up that had her chow for years. One day he snapped and bit her face causing permanent nerve damage to her eye. I don't know about all chows but that has been my experience with them.
